Tinubu’s May 29 inauguration programme of events

On May 29, the inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s 16th President, but the seventh consecutive democratic transition of power in Nigeria, will hold.

Below is the programme of events, as released by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, and Chairman, Presidential Transition Council, PTC, Mr Boss Mustapha.

Tuesday, May 23: The Regimental Dinner in honour of the Commander-in-Chief held

Wednesday, May 24: The valedictory Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting held Council Chambers, Presidential Villa.

Today, Thursday, May 25: Investiture of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, and Vice-President-elect, Kashim Shettima, with the National Honours of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, GCFR, and Grand Commander of Order of the Niger, GCON, respectively, and handover of transition documents.

Tomorrow, Friday, May 26: Public lecture and Jumaat prayer at the National Mosque, 10:00am and 1:30 pm.

Saturday, May 27: Inauguration lecture on the topic: Deepening Democracy for Integration and Development by His Excellency, Uhuru M. Kenyatta, former President of Kenya.

Saturday, May 27: Children’s Day Programme.

Sunday, May 28: Inter-denominational Church Service at National Christian Centre and Inauguration Dinner/Gala Night at State House Conference Centre.

Monday, May 29: Inauguration parade/swearing-in at Eagle Square, CBD by 10:00am.

Monday, May 29: Post-inauguration luncheon at State House Banquet Hall by 1:30pm. This is strictly for the new ‘Mr. President’ (Bola Tinubu) with brother-presidents, Heads of Government and his invited guests.
